The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is an incredible organization doing work benefiting those with mental disorders and illnesses. When I got a chance to work with the incredible people in charge of the Colorado Springs chapter of this organization I jumped at the chance.
NAMI needed many designs. Their primary goal was to update their facebook and social media presence. As such I immediately created four banners that they could use, giving them options to be able to change out a banner whenever they felt it was necessary or to change it to one with the intention of keeping it for a significant amount of time.
I also gave them options to update their letterhead, envelopes, ID badges, invitations, and business cards. I wanted their design to speak to the organization they were a part of, fit within the already existing branding of the organization, but also speak to their particular branch in Colorado Springs.
They had recently been told to update their brochures to the very specific branding that NAMI’s brochures had to fall under. I was given the task of updating their brochures to fit that incredibly specific branding and help the NAMI chapter be part of its larger organization.
My favorite project by far was the guide I was able to create for them on what the Colorado Springs chapter specifically focuses on and offers.

Having a designer that can work within strict branding guides is an important in working with most businesses. Most larger companies have very specific branding guides that need to be followed to ensure designs are cohesive with the rest of what the company is producing. It allows for multiple designers to be used while maintaining an image.
